(TCP)CHICAGO – Mexicali, Mexico – Here’s where the wheat gets separated from the chaff. It only took a few days…and I’ll get the inside scoop.
There’s more heat in Mexicali and it comes in the form of three young performers called Los Vazquez Sounds. A beautiful young lady barely past the age of 10, produced by her father, Angela (or Angie) Vazquez sings Adele’s hit cover tune “Rolling In The Deep” and caused quite a stir in a hurry, racking up more than 4.7 million views in just a little over 9 days since its debut on YouTube.
Can you say, talent, talent and more TALENT? Now, you all know…I don’t go nuts over JUST anything…and you all know it takes even more than quite a bit to get me going, but the numbers and performance don’t lie…these youngsters just hit Internet gold.
They’ll be on NBC’s Today Show this following Monday morning 28 November 2011 with Matt Lauer.
UPDATE: Well we waited this morning for the show, and they were not on. Maybe they got rescheduled for tomorrow, we’ll be watching.
More on all of this later…
Don’t believe the numbers? – Go check it out for yourselves here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7UFm6ErMPU Update: Now rocking in at over 15 million views on YouTube!

UPDATE: We’ve just been notified that The Vazquez Sounds Family has just been booked onto the Televisa Teleton along with Britney Spears.
Here are the details about the Televisa Telethon:
It will be taking place, Friday December 2 A 10:30 PM through Dec.4 1:30 AM – Britney Spears will open the show and The Vazquez Sounds family will close the show.
The Teletón in Mexico is an annual 24-plus-hour TV and radio broadcast, started in 1996, to raise money for children’s rehabilitation centers (known as Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil Teletón or CRIT – “Teletón Children’s Rehabilitation Center” in English) for disabled children. Mexico’s proposal was due to the initiative of Fernando Landeros. The Mexican Teletón is produced by Televisa and more than 500 Mexican and foreign media; more than 100 commercial firms sponsor the event. The telethon’s mission is “to provide knowledge about physical disabilities, giving a strong message about respect, equality and support to people in these conditions”.
Since 1997, Teletón has begun on the first Friday in December. The 2010 Teletón was held on December 3–4; as always, it was seen as “a project of national unity where Mexicans have the chance to gather and work for the same cause”. From 1996–2003, the end of the event was marked by a concert in Azteca Stadium. Since 2004, the venue has varied: in 2004–2005 it was held at Mexico City‘s Zócalo, in 2006 at the Foro Sol and in 2007–2008 it was moved to the National Auditorium.
Besides creating CRITs all around the country, the CRIT system and the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEM) signed an agreement in 2000 creating two bachelors-degree programs training professionals to work with children at the CRITs, and created the Instituto Teletón de Estudios Superiores (ITESUR) (located next to the first CRIT constructed). ITESUR is the only university in Mexico that grants degrees in occupational and physical therapy. From 1997 to 2004, Mexican actress and pop star Lucero was involved in every telethon as the main spokesperson for most of the broadcast. Her role has since been downplayed, and other Televisa personalities have been included in the broadcast. Since 2009 Teletón has included Pelonton, collecting locks of hair for children diagnosed with cancer.
